02-05-23 Spring League Round 6

Chelle Snowden was top qualifier in the GT12 Class with Richard Norris in second place, Jack Walsh third, Nick Wallace fourth and Alfie Hart fifth.

In the LMP 12 Class James Hart was quickest, with Simon Pole taking second place and Karl Norris third.

Finals

Josh Freeman had a runaway victory in the GT12 “C” Final with 30 laps, Will Lacey finished in second place on 23, with Darren Thomas third with 18 laps.

Daniel Lacey was the winner of the “B” Final having 39 Laps, Ian Whiston took second place on 38 and Mike Simpson finished third on 37.

The “A” Final was won by Chelle Snowden on 43 laps starting from pole position on the start grid, Richard Norris was second being a lap down with 42 laps, Jack Walsh finished in third place on 41 laps and Alfie Hart took fourth place on 39 laps in his first “A” Final at Burton. Well done Alfie!

James Hart was the winner the LMP Final with 45 laps, Karl Norris was second on 43 laps and Simon Pole finished third with 41.

24-04-23 April Clubnight

Qualifying

Richard Norris was top qualifier in the GT12 class after the three qualifying rounds with Jack Walsh in second place, both drivers sharing the fastest lap time. Kayleigh Knight was in third position, Adam Hancock fourth and Nick Wallace fifth.

In the LMP12 class Louis Parker the leader and also setting the fastest lap time, Karl Norris was second and Freddie Parker third.

Finals

Fist up was the GT12 “C” Final which was won by Caleb Jones, Will Lacey finished in second place just ahead of third place driver Alex Forster who also had the quickest lap of the race.

In the “B” Final Alfie Hart set the quickest lap time but Mike Simpson was the eventual winner after a close race with Daniel Lacey who took second place, with Gaz de Roeck finishing third.

The “A” Final was incredibly close with Richard Norris having the quickest lap and the race soon developing into a battle for the win between Richard and Jack Walsh. Thrilling to watch this with little to separate the two drivers for lap after lap. At the finish it was Jack Walsh who was the winner with Richard in second place just 0.13 seconds adrift. It was very close for the next two places also with Adam Hancock taking third by just over a second from Kayleigh Knight.

Congratulations to Jack Walsh in winning his first “A” Final at Burton.

Just the LMP12 Final remaining which was run at a very quick pace. Karl Norris was the winner with Louis Parker finishing second, Freddie Parker was third and visiting driver Andrew Slingsby fourth. Another great race to conclude the evenings racing.

18-04-23 Superleague Round 2

The second of six rounds to be run on alternate months through 2023.

A new track design this week with the transponder loop in a different position.

Some very competitive racing as usual.

04-04-23 Spring League Round 4

Twenty-three GT12 and Four LMP12 drivers for round 4 of the current Spring League. It was good to see Benn Norris, Daniel Lacey, David Snowden and Ethan Wardle racing at Burton again together with visitor Josh Freeman.

Richard Norris was the only GT12 driver to achieve 42 Laps in qualifying followed by Chelle Snowden, Mckenzie Wallace, Kayleigh Knight and Adam Hancock all with 41.

Louis Parker was fastest in LMP12 with 46 laps, Karl Norris had 45, Simon Pole 42 and Freddie Parker 39. l

Finals

Nick Wallace won the GT12 D Final, Josh freeman was second and Will Lacey finished in third place ahead of Ian Craig and Daniel Lacey to be the top “Team Lacey” driver, can Will make it two weeks in a row next week!

Alex Forster won an exciting C Final with David Snowden and Paul Carter taking second and third places.

Jack Walsh had a fine win in the B Final with Bob Harley taking second place and Alfie Hart third – another good result for “Team Hart”.

A thrilling A Final was won by Richard Norris , Mckenzie Wallace was second, Chelle Snowden third, Adam Hancock fourth, Kayleigh Knight fifth and Dan Stones sixth.

The last race of the evening was the LMP12 Final which was an incredibly close race, Louis Parker was the winner with Karl Norris taking second place just under a second adrift – both drivers with 45 Laps. Simon Pole finished third with 42 laps and Freddie Parker was fourth with 41.

A great evenings racing, many thanks to Chris Snowden for running race control and all those who assisted in setting up the track and packing everything away at the end of the evening.

28-03-23 Spring League Round 3

Qualifying

Chelle Snowden was the quickest in GT12 after the three rounds of qualifying with Mckenzie Wallace just 0.13 seconds behind, Dan Stones was in third place, Jack Walsh fourth and Kayleigh Knight fifth.

It was also very close in LMP12 with Louis Parker being just 1.03 seconds ahead of Karl Norris.

Before the start of the finals Chelle Snowden presented the Trophies to the top three drivers in each of the formulas of the 2022-23 Winter League. Congratulations to the league Champions, F1- Karl Norris, F2 Dan Stones, F3 Ian Whiston and F3 Junior Jack Walsh, together with all the other trophy winners -yes Chelle did win one as well!

Finals

Nick Wallace having had problems with his car for most of the evening won the “C” final with Gaz de Roeck having a good drive to take second place with Will Lacey finishing third.

Alfie Hart starting form pole position on the grid set the fastest lap in the “B” Final on his way to victory. Mike Simpson and Ian Whiston were second and third being a lap down. Alex Forster also had a good evenings racing, finishing in fourth place.

The “A” final was a very close race with less than four seconds separating the first three drivers at the finish. Chelle Snowden was the winner, Mckenzie Wallace took second place just 0.14 seconds ahead of Kayleigh Knight in third, Dan Stones was fourth, Jack Walsh fifth and Bob Harley sixth.

Louis Parker won the LMP Final, Karl Norris was second and Freddie Parker third. Better watch out Louis – Freddie is getting quicker each week!!!!

21-03-23 March Clubnight

Another very fast track again this week with the LMP drivers setting lap times of less than seven seconds!

Richard Hicklin was in top form being fastest qualifier in the GT12 Class with 48 laps, three laps ahead of Adam Hancock and Justin Heath in second and third places.

Louis Parker was quickest in the LMP12 Class achieving 52 Laps with Karl Norris second with 51 and Freddie Parker third with 49.

Finals

Will Lacey won the GT12 C Final after a close battle with Kevin Flamson who finished in second place on the same lap. Ian Craig was third, the fastest lap was set by pole position driver Alex Forster.

In the B Final Bob Harley won with 42 laps Mike Simpson took second place on 41 laps with Ian Whiston third with 39.

After winning all three qualifying rounds Richard Hicklin went on to win the A Final on 47 laps, Adam Hancock took second place with 45 laps with Chelle Snowden being third on 44. Nick Wallace and Dan Stones also finished fourth and fifth with the same laps as Chelle.

Tha last race of the evening was the LMP12 Final, this was run at a tremendous pace and very exciting to watch. Louis Parker set the fastest lap and also won the race with Karl Norris being less than two seconds behind and taking second place. Freddie Parker was third just a lap down on the leaders and visiting driver Gavin Rice was fourth.

Spring League Round 2

A new track design with some slightly wider sections than usual produced some very close qualifying times. Richard Hicklin was top qualifier this week with Justin Heath in second place and Chelle Snowden third. A great performance from Jack Walsh earned him fourth place with Adam Hancock fifth to complete the “A” Final line-up.

Finals

The “D” Final quickly turned into a contest between pole position driver Chris Snowden and car 2 Paul Carter, at the finish Chris was the winner with Paul taking second place and Kevin Flamson third.

Caleb Jones had a fine win in the “C” Final with Ian Whiston just five seconds adrift in second place and Gaz de Roeck third being a lap down.

The “B” Final was an exciting race with all drivers setting similar lap-times. Dan Stones won the race with Bob Harley a close second. Nick Wallace was third also setting the quickest who lap in the race. Well done also to Alfie Hart in taking fourth place with some great driving.

As usual we were treated to a thrilling “A” Final with Richard Hicklin lapping everyone else to take the win, Justin Heath finished in second place and Jack Walsh completed a great night for “Team Hart” by taking third. Adam Hancock finished fourth and Chelle Snowden fifth.

Next week is the March Clubnight, with no league points at stake a good time to experiment with different car setups.

07-03-2023 Spring League R1

After the three rounds of qualifying the results were very close in the GT12 class, the top three drivers all being on 39 laps and separated by just over two seconds. Justin Heath being quickest, Richard Norris was in second place and Richard Hicklin third.

In LMP12 Louis Parker was top qualifier followed by Daniel Mountford and Peter Stockton, all being within four seconds of one another.

Finals
Visiting driver Peter Lax won the GT12 D Final with Chris Snowden taking second place and Alex Forster third.
Mike Simpson was the winner of the C Final, it was close for second place though with Caleb Jones just getting the better of Ian Whiston.
Dan Stones had a great win in the B Final being a lap clear of the rest of the field, Josh Flanagan finished second just ahead of Bob Harley in third.
The A Final as usual was very competitive, a win for Richard Hicklin with Richard Norris finishing in second place an top qualifier Justin Heath third.

The LMP12 Final was run at a very fast pace and won by pole position driver Louis Parker with a very impressive 43 laps, Peter Stockton was second on 41 laps and Simon Pole third with 39. A fantastic race to conclude the evening.

21-02-23 Winter League R11

Thirty drivers this week for the final round of the 2022-23 Winter League.

After the three rounds of qualifying Richard Norris was quickest in the GT12 class with 40 laps followed by four drivers on 39, Adam Hancock, Chelle Snowden, Mckenzie Wallace and Kayleigh Knight.
Louis Parker was top qualifier in LMP12 with 43 laps, Karl Norris was in second place on the same lap with Simon Pole third on 42 laps.


Finals
Euan Lees had a convincing win in the GT12 “D” Final being six laps ahead, it was close for the next three places though with Kevin Flamson finishing second, Ian Craig third and Will Lacey fourth just over four seconds apart.

The “C” Final was also a great race with Saul Theobold winning, Ian Whiston second and Caleb Jones third being just 0.14 seconds ahead of Gaz de Roeck.

Bob Harley won the “B” Final with Dan Stones taking second place and Mike Simpson third.

Richard Norris was the winner of the “A” Final with Adam Hancock second and Chelle Snowden was third, there were great performance from both Jack Walsh and Mckenzie Wallace to take fourth and fifth places.

Louis Parker won the last race of the evening the LP12 “A” Final, Karl Norris finished in second place with James Stewart third.

14-02-23 February Clubnight

An ordinary clubnight prior to the final round of the winter league next week.

A great evenings racing as usual with Justin Heath being top qualifier in the GT12 Class with a tremendous 40 laps. Kayleigh Knight, Adam Hancock and Mckenzie Wallace had 39 laps and Dan Stones 38. It was good to see Chris Snowden and Alex Forster racing at Burton again and visiting driver Kylan Carley.

It was close in LMP12, James Stewart having 43 laps, Simon Pole and Karl Norris 42 and Freddie Parker 41.
