18-07-23 Summer League R3

Another Simon Pole design track layout this week which proved to be quite testing for some of the drivers – myself included! It was good to see Benn Norris racing at Burton again, together with new members Emma and Robert Dutton and also Jacob Milne racing for his first time at the club.

After the qualifying there were three GT12 drivers with 39 laps, Richard Norris was the quickest followed by Simon Pole and Justin Heath.

Karl Norris was best in LMP12 with 41 laps, with Dan Stones 39 and Kayleigh Knight 38.

Finals

Kevin Flamson won the GT12 “D” Final with Jacob Milne in second place just a lap adrift with Emma Dutton taking third place.

The “C” Final was dominated by “Team Theobold” with Ben Theobold winning and Saul finishing in second place just three and a half seconds behind. Will Lacey also had a good drive to finish third.

Benn Norris made a good return to racing by winning the “B” Final, being a lap clear of Bob Harley in second place with Ian Whiston finishing third.

Justin Heath won an exciting “A” Final, Simon Pole took second place, Adam Hancock was third and Guy Rogers fourth.

A runaway victory In the LMP12 Final Karl Norris by a four lap margin from Dan Stones in second place with Kayleigh Knight a further lap down.

11-07-23 Summer League Round 2

Three qualifying rounds and a final on a track design more technical than last week.

Three GT12 drivers set the pace in qualifying with 39 laps, Richard Norris being quickest, Peter Stockton in second place and Simon Pole third.

Louis Parker was the top LMP12 driver on 43 laps, Karl Norris second with 41 and Freddie Parker taking third place with the quickest 39 laps.

Ian Craig won the GT12 “D” Final on 21 laps with Robert Dutton taking second place having 12 laps and Emma Dutton was third being a lap down on Robert.

Bob Harley was the winner in the “C” Final with 34 laps, four laps clear of Josh Freeman, with third place driver Will Lacey being a further lap adrift.

The “B” Final was very competitive with Josh Flanagan and Sam Pope challenging for the lead, at the finish Josh was the winner on 37 laps with Sam taking second place just under four seconds behind, Mike Simpson was third with 35.

The “A” Final was yet another great race with Richard Norris starting from pole position, at the finish Simon Pole was the winner, Peter Stockton finished in second place less than a second behind Simon, both with 40 laps. Richard Norris took third place with 39 laps, Guy Rogers was fourth and Nick Wallace fifth.

Just the LMP12 Final remaining, Louis Parker won the race with Karl Norris taking second place, both drivers on 43 laps, Karl being less than the seconds adrift. Dan Stones took third place, Kayleigh Knight was fourth and Freddie Parker fifth.

04/07/2023 July Clubnight

Four drivers scoring 40 Laps in the GT12 Class after the three qualifying rounds Simon Pole was quickest followed by Chelle Snowden, Adam Hancock and Peter Stockton with Guy Rogers and Jack Walsh taking fifth and sixth places.

James Hart was the leader in the LMP12 Class with 44 Laps, Karl Norris was second on 43 Laps and Kayleigh Knight third with 40.

Finals

Caleb Jones was the winner of the GT12 “C” Final, Josh Freeman was second and Alex Forster third.

Alfie Hart won the “B” Final, Sam Pope was second and Bob Harley third.

Yet another exciting “A” Final with Simon Pole being the winner, Peter Stockton second, Chelle Snowden third.

James Hart won the LMP12 Final with Karl Norris in second place and Freddie Parker third.

27-06-23 Summer League R1

The first round of the Summer League, with the best eight from a possible eleven rounds scores to count.

After the three qualifying rounds Richard Norris was quickest followed by Simon Pole, visiting driver Peter Stockton, Chelle Snowden and Adam Hancock, all being a lap down on Richard.

Prior to the start of the finals the Spring League trophies were presented by Courtney Orme, congratulations to all the winners especially the league winners Richard Norris F1, Jack Walsh F2, Ian Whiston F3 and Alfie Hart F3 Junior.

Finals

Paul Carter won the GT12 “D” Final, Josh Freeman was second and Ian Craig third.

Caleb Jones had a great win in the “C” Final being a lap clear of David Snowden in second place and Mike Simpson third. Well done Caleb!!!!!!

The “B” Final was incredibly close with all five drivers finishing on the same lap with only seven seconds separating them. Nick Wallace was the winner, Sam Pope was second, Guy Rogers third, Alfie Hart fourth and Jack Walsh fifth.

Richard Norris won a thrilling “A” Final with Peter Stockton just 0.6 seconds behind in second place, Simon Pole was third, Mckenzie Wallace fourth, Chelle Snowden fifth and Adam Hancock sixth.

The last race of the evening, the LMP12 final soon developed into a high speed battle between Louis Parker and Karl Norris with Louis eventually taking the win, Karl being second and Dan Stones third.

20-06-23 Summer Trophy Meeting

Another Simon Pole great design track this week produced some excellent racing with three qualifying rounds and a final to decide the trophy winners.

Will Lacey had a convincing win in the GT12 “D” final with Ian Craig taking second place and Kevin Flamson third.

The “C” Final was very close between Alfie Hart and Sam Pope with Sam winning, Alfie taking second place and also setting the quickest lap in the race, Mike Simpson was third.

Jack Walsh was the winner of the “B” Final with McKenzie Wallace just under five seconds adrift in second place with Josh Flanagan third.

The “A” Final as usual was very competitive with Simon Pole the winner, Richard Norris taking second place less than two seconds behind. Adam Hancock was third, Guy Rogers fourth and Chelle Snowden Fifth, all three drivers being a lap down on the leaders.

The last race of the evening the LMP12 “A” Final was an incredible race won by a combination of Louis Parker Steering and James Hart controlling the throttle of louis’s car. Karl Norris was second and Dan Stones third.

The Trophies were presented at the end of the evening by the Club Chairman Bob Harley.

13-06-23 Superleague Round 3

After the three rounds of qualifying Simon Pole was quickest in the GT12 Class for the fifth successive week, with Chelle Snowden second and Adam Hancock third.

Karl Norris was top LMP12 qualifier.

Finals

Caleb Jones won the GT12 “C” Final with Will Lacey taking second place and Alex Forster third.

Nick Wallace was the winner of the “B” Final, Sam Pope finished in second place and also set the fastest lap in the race, Ian Whiston was third.

The “A” Final was as usual great to watch, Simon Pole was the winner, Chelle Snowden finished second being a lap down on Simon, Adam Hancock was third and Guy Rogers fourth.

The last race of the evening, the LMP12 Final was incredibly close with just under three seconds separating all three drivers. Kayleigh Knight was the winner followed by Karl Norris with Dan Stones third. Well done Kayleigh!!!!!!!!

06-06-23 June Clubnight

An ordinary Clubnight this week with three qualifying rounds and a final on a fast track design. Simon Pole was the quickest qualifier in the GT12 Class followed by Chelle Snowden and Adam Hancock, all three having 43 Laps. In the LMP Class Karl Norris was the top qualifier with 45 Laps, Dan Stones and Freddie Parker were second and third both with 44.

Finals

Josh Freeman won the GT12 “C” Final on 35 Laps, Alex Forster finished in second place a lap down on the winner, Gaz de Roeck was third with 32 Laps.

A very exciting “B” Final with Bob Harley winning by less than a second from Sam Pope, both drivers having 41 laps with Mike Simpson taking third place on 38 Laps.

Simon Pole was the winner in the “A” Final with 44 Laps, there was a great race for second and third places between Chelle Snowden and Adam Hancock with Chelle finishing just 0.22 seconds ahead of Adam to take second place, both drivers with 43 Laps. Kayleigh Knight was fourth and Guy Rogers fifth both on 42 Laps.

In the LMP12 Final Karl Norris with 45 Laps was the winner, Dan Stones was second on 44 Laps with Freddie Parker finishing third on 38 Laps.

30-05-23 Spring League Round 9

A new Simon Pole track design this week for the final round of the Spring League on which he was top qualifier, Justin Heath was second, Adam Hancock third, Guy Rogers fourth, Chelle Snowden fifth and Kayleigh Knight sixth completing the “A” Final line up.

Louis Parker was quickest in the LMP12 class being two laps ahead of Karl Norris with Freddie Parker taking third place.

Finals

Alex Forster had a great win in the “C” Final being three laps clear of the rest of the field, Ethan Wardle taking second place and Will Lacey third. Well done Alex and Ethan!!!!

The “B” Final was won by new member Sam Pope, Ian Whiston took second place with Mike Simpson third.

Justin Heath won the “A” final with Kayleigh Knight finishing in second place just ahead of Chelle Snowden, the fastest lap was set by Simon Pole who unfortunately had electrical problems with his car part way through the race.

Karl Norris was the winner of the LMP12 Final, Dan Stones was second and Freddie Parker third.

23-05-23 Spring League Round 8

Qualifying

The penultimate round of the Spring League produced a very close result in the qualifying with the top six GT12 drivers having 39 laps in round 3 with just 8 seconds separating them. Simon Pole was quickest followed by Justin Heath, Jack Walsh, Richard Norris, Chelle Snowden and Adam Hancock’

Louis Parker was the leader in the LMP 12 class with 43 laps, Karl Norris was second with 41 with Freddie Parker and Dan Stones both with 39 laps .

Finals

Caleb Jones won the GT12 “D” Final being two laps clear of Josh Freeman in second place with Will Lacey taking third place.

The “C” Final was won by Mike Simpson with Ian Whiston taking second place and also having the quickest lap of the race, Daniel Lacey finished third.

Guy Rogers won the “B” Final after a very close race, Kayleigh Knight took second place and Mckenzie Wallace third – all three drivers with 38 Laps.

A great “A” Final with Justin Heath being the winner with 40 laps, an excellent drive by Jack Walsh earned him second place on 39 laps followed by Richard Norris in third ,Simon Pole fourth , Chelle Snowden fifth and Adam Hancock sixth.

The last race of the evening was the LMP12 Final, Louis Parker was the winner with 43 laps being three laps clear on Karl Norris in second place who was three laps ahead of third place driver Dan Stones.

09-05-23 Spring League Round 7

Qualifying

Three Qualifying rounds as usual with Simon Pole the only driver to achieve 40 laps in GT12 class followed by three drivers on 39 laps, Richard Norris, Chelle Snowden, and Mckenzie Wallace taking second, third and fourth places respectively.

In LMP Karl Norris was quickest with 42 laps, visiting driver Peter Stockton second on 41 and Josh Flanagan third with 40 laps.

Finals

Ian Craig had a great win in the GT12 “D” final with Kevin Flamson being four laps down in second place.

The “C” Final was very competitive between Caleb Jones and Gaz de Roeck, at the finish there was just over half a second separating them, victory going to Caleb. Gaz finished second and Alex Forster also having a good drive to take third place.

Kayleigh Knight starting from pole position in the “B” Final took the win and was a lap quicker than the rest of the field. It was close for the next three places though with club chairman Bob Harley taking second place, secretary Mike Simpson third and Daniel Lacey fourth.

The “A” Final produced yet another high speed and thrilling race, Simon Pole was the winner with Richard Norris taking second place just 0.23 seconds behind. Chelle Snowden was third, Justin Heath fourth and Adam Hancock fifth. A great race!

The last race of the evening was the LMP Final with the drivers finishing in their start order. Karl Norris winning, Peter Stockton taking second place and Josh Flanagan third
