20-02-24 Winter League Round 11

The Final round of the 2023-24 winter league this week on a fast track design.

After the three qualifying rounds there were four drivers on 43 laps, separated by less than six seconds. Karl Norris was quickest taking pole position in the “A” Final, Justin Heath was second, Simon Pole third and Freddie Parker fourth.

Finals

Kevin Morris won the “E” Final some an impressive 34 laps, Joseph Norris took second place after a close race with Kevin and Ian Craig was third.

The “D” Final was won by Gaz de Roeck on 38 laps, Ian Whiston set the quickest lap and finished in second place with Steven Myall third. A great race to watch.

McKenzie Wallace won the “C” Final with 41 laps, Richard Johnston was second on 39 laps and Andy Hopper third with 38.

An extremely competitive “B” Final was won by Benn Norris with 42 laps followed by Sam Pope, Guy Rogers and Bob Harley in second, third and fourth places respectively, each on 41 laps and being less than 1.5 seconds apart.

Just the “A” Final remaining and it did not disappoint, Karl Norris was the winner having 43 laps, Justin Heath was second on 42 laps with the other four drivers all on 41 laps. Freddie Parker was third, Gavin Rice fourth, Chelle Snowden fifth and Simon Pole sixth. A tremendous race, well done Freddie on being the top Junior member of the evening.

13-02-24 February Clubnight

No league points at stake this week with some of the Clubs more experienced drivers also giving advice and help in setting up members cars during the evening. This was very successful, many thanks go to Bob Harley, Simon Pole, Dan Stones and Chelle Snowden. Any members requiring assistance in the future should speak to Bob Harley during any race evening.

A great track this week being a variation to the previous week.

Karl Norris was top qualifier by the fine margin of 0.48 seconds ahead of Louis Parker both on 45 laps followed by Dan Stones with 44 laps, with Freddie Parker and Guy Rogers with 43 laps.

Finals

Ian Craig won the “D” Final making it wins for two consecutive weeks, Kevin Flamson took second place with Nick Newcombe third.

An impressive win by Darren Holyland in the “C” Final being a lap clear of Kevin Morris in second place with Will Lacey finishing third.

Andy Hopper was the winner of the “B” Final with Richard Johnston being just under four seconds behind in second place with Mike Simpson a lap adrift in third.

The evenings racing concluded with a thrilling “A” Final with Louis Parker being the winner just 2.66 seconds from Karl Norris, both with 45 laps. Freddie Parker took third place making it good evening for “Team Parker”. Dan Stones was fourth and Benn Norris fifth.

Next Tuesday 20th February is the final round of the Winter League and with some of the trophy winner places yet to be decided it should be a very competitive evenings racing.

6-02-24 Winter League Round 10

A testing track design this week with James Hart the top qualifier, Karl Norris being second and having the fastest lap both drivers with 42 laps. Chelle Snowden was third, Simon Pole fourth, Benn Norris fifth, McKenzie Wallace sixth and Freddie Parker seventh completing the “A” Final line up.

Finals

Ian Craig was the winner of the “E” Final being three laps clear of Barry Thomas in second place with Eric Enion finishing third just under a second behind Barry.

The “D” final was won by Kevin Morris ahead of Joseph Norris in second place with Jacob Milne third.

A good win for Josh Freeman in the “C” Final, Louis Speight was just over four seconds behind in second place with Gaz de Roeck finishing third a lap adrift.

The “B” final was an extremely close race, at the finish Guy Rogers was the winner, Alfie Hart second and Sam Pope third, all with 38 laps.

James Hart won the “A” Final with an impressive 43 laps, Simon Pole was second on 41 laps, followed by Karl Norris, Chelle Snowden and Freddie Parker with 40 laps, Benn Norris was sixth on 38 and McKenzie Wallace seventh with 32 laps.

30-01-24 Winter League Round 9

A new track design this week with Karl Norris being top qualifier followed by Richard Norris, Chelle Snowden and Simon Pole in second, third and fourth places, all four drivers having 37 laps.

Finals

Rory Baggott won the “E” Final being three laps clear of second place driver Kevin Flamson, with Darren Thomas taking third place to be the top “Team Thomas” driver this week.

New member Louis Speight was the winner of the “D” Final with 31 laps, Kevin Morris took second place with Jacob Milne finishing third.

Ian Whiston won the “C” Final on 32 laps with Steven Myall in second place and Darren Holyland third, both on 31 laps.

The “B” Final was a very close race, the winner was Gavin Rice with 35 laps. There were five drivers on 34 laps, Alfie Hart was second, Lee Speight third, Adam Hancock fourth, Bob Harley fifth and Caleb Jones in sixth place. A great race to watch.

Just the “A” final remaining which was won by Karl Norris with 38 laps starting from pole position. Simon Pole was second and Benn Norris third, both on 37 laps. Mckenzie Wallace took fourth place, Chelle Snowden fifth and Guy Rogers sixth – all three drivers with 36 laps.

23-01-24 Winter League Round 8

Prior to racing the Club Chairman Bob Harley presented the 2023 Superleague Trophies.

16-01-24 Winter League Round 7

Round 7 of the Winter League this week with the best 8 round scores from a possible 11 to count for the League Championship.

Louis Parker was top qualifier with 42 laps followed by Karl Norris, Freddie Parker and Chelle Snowden with 41 laps.

Finals

Clark Newcombe won the “E” Final with Ian Craig taking second place ahead of Junior Member Rory Baggott who finished third. Well done Rory.

The “D” Final was a great race, at the finish Brynn Hall was the winner , Will Lacey took second place and Kevin Morris third.

James Adkins had a fine win in the “C” Final, also setting the fastest lap, Junior member Caleb Jones finished in second place and Mike Simpson was third.

The “B” Final was won by Guy Rogers, Benn Norris was second and also having the fastest lap in the race, Junior member Alfie Hart finished third – all three drivers with 38 Laps.

Just the “A Final remaining which was won by Louis Parker with Karl Norris in second place – both drivers with 41 laps. Junior member Freddie Parker took third place on 40 laps, just 0.33 seconds ahead of Chelle Snowden who finished fourth. Gavin Rice was fifth, Adam Hancock sixth and Dan Stones seventh, all with 39 Laps.

09-01-24 January Clubnight

An enjoyable evenings racing on a great track layout.

The qualifying was close, Karl Norris being quickest in GT12 with Justin Heath in second place, both with 39 Laps. There were four drivers having 38 Laps – Kayleigh Knight, Benn Norris, Simon Pole and Adam Hancock. An excellent result for “Team Norris” in taking three of the top four places.

Louis Parker was quickest in LMP12 with Freddie Parker second and Dan Stones third.

Finals

New Members Nick Newcombe and Clark Newcombe took first and third places in the “D” Final with Ian Craig finishing in second place.

Darren Holyland won the “C” Final with Alex Forster having the fastest lap of the race and taking second place just over four seconds behind. Will Lacey was third.

Guy Rogers was the winner in the “B” final after a very close contest with Sam Pope and Richard Johnston, all finishing with 36 Laps.

Karl Norris won an exciting “A” Final with 39 Laps, Justin Heath took second place and set the fastest lap, Simon pole was third and Adam Hancock fourth, all with 38 Laps.

The last race of the evening was the LMP12 Final and was won by Freddie Parker, Dan Stones finished in second place and Louis Parker third.

02-01-24 Winter League Round 6

Twenty six drivers braved the inclement road conditions for the first race meeting of 2024.

Karl Norris was the top qualifier with Freddie Parker and Simon Pole being second and third, all three with 41 laps. Chelle Snowden was fourth and Kayleigh Knight fifth both on 40 laps.

Finals

Ian Craig had a runaway victory in the “D” Final being five laps clear of second place driver Clark Newcombe with Barry Thomas taking third place a lap ahead of Darren Thomas to be the top “Team Thomas” driver of the evening.

Visiting driver Peter Lax won a closely contested “C” Final with Steven Myall finishing in second place and Alex Forster third.

The “B” final was a close race with Benn Norris winning from Bob Harley in second place with Gavin Rice finishing a lap down in third.

Karl Norris was the winner of the “A” Final starting from pole position, it was close though with Simon Pole taking second place less than two seconds behind. Chelle Snowden finished in third place and Alfie Hart fourth, also being the best Junior Member.

19-12-23 XMAS Trophy Meeting

The final race meeting of 2023 with the usual format of three qualifying rounds and a final.

Kevin Flamson won the “E” Final with visiting driver Clark Newcombe taking second place, Darren Thomas third and Eric Enion fourth.

The “D” Final was a close result with Will Lacey winning, new member Brynn Hall finishing in second place and Joseph Norris third.

Caleb Jones was first across the finishing line in the “C” Final after a close race with Mike Simpson, with Joseph Norris taking third place.

The “B” Final was won by Kayleigh Knight with Dan Stones in second place just over two seconds ahead of Gavin Rice who was third.

Karl Norris won the “A” Final from pole position on the starting grid. There were tremendous performances from junior members Freddie Parker and Alfie Hart who battled it out for second and third places. Freddie finishing second and Alfie third. A great race to conclude the evenings racing.

The Trophies were presented at the end of the evening by Chelle Snowden, congratulations to all the trophy winners.

12-12-23 December Clubnight

Three qualifying rounds and a final for the December Clubnight.

James Hart was the top qualifier followed by Karl Norris, Simon Pole, Richard Norris, Freddie Parker and Josh Flanagan, these making up the “A” Final.

Finals

Ian Craig set the fastest lap in the “E” Final and won the race, with Barry Thomas finishing second on the same lap and Kevin Flamson third being a lap down.

In the “D” Final Darren Holyland and new member James Adkins had a very close race with Darren winning with 32 laps, just over a second ahead of James in second place. Louis Speight finished third, Paul Galbraith fourth and Will Lacey fifth – all three drivers on 31 laps.

Dan Stones won the “C” Final by a lap but it a close result for the next three places with less than two seconds separating the drivers. Mike Simpson was second, Richard Johnston third and Daniel Lacey fourth.

A great “B” Final, the winner being Adam Hancock with Benn Norris taking second place less than a second adrift. Lee Speight was third being two laps behind the leaders.
