10-12-19 December Clubnight and Trophy Presentation

An ordinary clubnight producing a good evenings racing, giving the opportunity to experiment with different car set-ups

The Winter League and Superleague trophies were presented by Courtney Orme, see photos of some of the winners below.






Next week is the Christmas Trophy meeting which will conclude the racing for 2019.

30-11-19 BRCA Midland Regional GT12 Series 2019

The third and final round of the series was held at Tamworth model car club following Round 1 at Burton Buggy Club and Round 2 at Rowley Regis.

The winner was Gary Kirkpatrick, Andrew Slingsby was second and Sam Brookes third.

03-12-19 Superleague Final Round

The last round of the 2019 Superleague using a similar track design to last week courtesy of Steve Donald – could he repeat last weeks performance of winning the LMP Final ??


In the GT12 class Karl Norris was top qualifier with Darren Ford just under three seconds behind, Kayleigh Knight was third a lap down with Anthony Dennis and Bob Harley a further lap adrift in fourth and fifth places. Nick Wallace took the remaining place in the A Final, also being the best placed F2 driver.

Simon Honeysett was the top F3 driver followed by Jack Walsh and Freddie Parker.

In the LMP class Louis Parker was quickest ahead of Ashley King and Steve Donald.

Jack Walsh was the winner of the GT12 C Final, Freddie Parker took a fine second place and Ian Craig was third.

The B Final produced a close race between Bob Harris and Jack Sweetman with Bob taking the win, Jack second and Mike Simpson third.

The A Final was dominated by “Team Norris” with Karl Norris winning the race and Kayleigh Knight finishing second, Anthony Dennis was third a few seconds ahead of Bob Harley. Nick Wallace took fifth place and Darren Ford having technical problems with his car finished sixth.

Louis Parker had another superb drive to win the LMP Final, Ashley King was second and Fred Hatfield third followed by Gavin Maciver, Guy Rogers and Steve Donald. A second place finish by Ashley was good enough for first place in the league.

Personal best times for the track design improved for almost everyone this week so maybe there was more grip!

That completes all of the 2019 Leagues, congratulations to all of the winners.

Just two more weeks racing before the Christmas break.

Next week is an ordinary clubnight, with the Christmas Trophy meeting being held the following week on Tuesday 17th December.

26-11-19 Winter League Final Round

The last round of the winter league and after the qualifying Karl Norris was quickest in GT12 with Kayleigh Knight in second place and Chelle Snowden third.
Anthony Dennis was the best placed F2 driver in fourth position overall, F3 driver McKenzie Wallace completed the A Final line up with a great performance in his new car.

In the LMP12 class Steve Donald took pole position in the final with Mick Farrell second and Fred Hatfield third.

Finals
Freddie Parker won the GT12 C Final from Simon Honeysett in second place.

The B Final was won by Jack Sweetman with Benn Norris in second place, also setting the quickest lap time in the race, Nick Wallace was third just ahead of Mike Simpson.

The A final was a great race with the first three drivers finishing just a few seconds apart, producing an exciting finish with Kayleigh Knight being the winner, Karl Norris second and Anthony Dennis third. Well done Kayleigh! – no team orders in “Team Norris”.

The evenings racing was completed with a win for Steve Donald in the LMP12 class, Louis Parker took second place and Mick Farrell third.

Well done to all the league winners especially Karl Norris and McKenzie Wallace who both achieved the maximum possible score of 600 points.

Don’t forget that the last round of the superleague is next week.

19-11-19 Winter League Round 8

The penultimate round of the 2019 Winter League saw Karl Norris take his sixth maximum points to retain the GT12 F1 league championship. Chelle Snowden who finished second in the A Final is assured of second place.

In F2 League leader Anthony Dennis recorded another maximum points but it is still possible for Bob Harris to win if he scores maximum points in the final round next week.

McKenzie Wallace needs to win the final round in F3 to attain the maximum possible league score of 600 points.
Next weeks final round scores may change several of the drivers current positions.

In the LMP12 class Ashley King cannot be caught at the top of the league with Steve Donald in second place.

Looking forward to an exciting finish to the Winter League next week.

AGM Evening

The club committee members elected for 2019/20 were.

Chairman – Bob Harley
Secretary / Treasurer – Mike Simpson
Chelle Snowden, Courtney Orme, Simon Pole and Richard Parker.

The meeting was followed by three qualifying rounds of free racing for those members present who wished to race.

Membership for 2020 is now available, forms at Race Control.
For new members joining between now and the end of this year, membership for the remainder of 2019 will be included.

The next two weeks are the final rounds of the current Winter League .

05-11-19 Winter League Round 7

In the GT12 class Karl Norris, Bob Harley and Kayleigh Knight were the top three qualifiers with Anthony Dennis, Bob Harris and Benn Norris being the highest placed F2 drivers. Bob Budge led the way in F3 followed by Freddie Parker and Alfie Hart.

In LMP12 James Hart was quickest with Ashley King second and Steve Donald third.

Finals
Only two drivers made the start in the C Final, the winner being Paul Carter with Freddie Parker finishing second.

Bob Harris won an exciting B Final, Benn Norris had the quickest lap and finished in second place with Mike Simpson third.

A good result in the A Final for “Team Norris” with Karl winning by two laps followed by Kayleigh Knight in second place, setting the fastest lap time and finishing ahead of third placed driver Bob Harley by just over a second.

The last race of the evening the LMP12 final produced another close finish James Hart being the winner, Ashley King second and Steve Donald third.

Chelle Snowden still leads F1 with Bob Harley in second place, Karl Norris added yet another maximum points this week and needs only one more from the remaining two rounds to achieve a maximum league score.

in F2 the leader Bob Harris is just a single point ahead of Anthony Dennis with Mike Simpson a further two points adrift in third.

Freddie Parker leads F3 with Alfie Hart second and McKenzie Wallace third, things could change significantly in the remaining two rounds.

Steve Donald leads the LMP12 league but Ashley King in second place has only raced in five rounds to date.

29-10-19 Winter League Round 6

Another good evenings racing, Karl Norris was once again top qualifier in the GT12 class with 41 laps, it was close for the next four positions though with Darren Ford, Richard Norris, Chelle Snowden and Bob Harley all with 40 laps.

Ashley King was quickest in LMP12 followed by Steve Donald and Fred Hatfield.

Finals
Saul Theobold had a good win in the GT12 C Final scoring 100 points in F3, James Krych was second and Simon Page third.

The B Final was a very competitive race with just a few seconds between the first three drivers, Anthony Dennis was the winner, Mike Simpson took second place and Bob Harris third.

Driving in the A Final was to a very high standard, Karl Norris won yet again holding off a challenge from Darren Ford, both drivers with 42 laps. Chelle Snowden took third place just ahead of Richard Norris, Kayleigh Knight finished fifth and Bob Harley sixth.

In the LMP12 final Ashley King was the winner, Steve Donald second and Fred Hatfield third.

Just three rounds remaining in the winter league.

22-10-19 Winter League Round 5

Karl Norris was top qualifier in the GT12 class, two laps clear of Chelle Snowden, Bob Harley and Kayleigh Knight with F3 driver Jack Walsh completing the A Final line up – Jack’s first A Final at Burton, a tremendous achievement.


Bob Harris was quickest in F2 and took pole position in the B Final, one lap up on Anthony Dennis, Mike Simpson and Nick Wallace with Benn Norris a further two laps down.

Bob Budge made pole in the C Final followed by Freddie Parker, Simon Page, McKenzie Wallace, Alfie Hart and Ian Craig.

In the LMP12 class Louis Parker set the pace being three laps ahead of Simon Pole, with Guy Rogers a further three laps adrift.

Finals
McKenzie Wallace won the C Final with Bob Budge finishing second and Simon Page third.

Bob Harris had a great win in a very close B Final, just holding off Anthony Dennis who finished in second place 0.32 seconds adrift, Mike Simpson was third.

Karl Norris won the A Final, Chelle Snowden was second and Bob Harley third, one second ahead of Kayleigh Knight.

Louis Parker was the winner of the LMP12 Final, Simon Pole took second place and Guy Rogers third.

Halfway through the Winter league now, Chelle Snowden leads F1 with Bob Harley in second place, Karl Norris is third having won all three rounds he has raced in.

In F2 Mike Simpson leads, Nick Wallace is second and Bob Harris third, however with four more rounds left any of the F2 drivers could win.

F3 leader McKenzie Wallace dropped his first point this week and the 100 points Jack Walsh scored makes it possible for him to overtake McKenzie, Freddie Parker remains in second place.

No changes to the leading positions in LMP12 as Steve Donald, Ashley King and Richard Norris were not racing.

15-10-19 October Clubnight

More new flexi bends on this weeks track design with the opportunity of some quick lap-times.

Top qualifier was Karl Norris with Richard Norris and Justin Heath in second and third places, all three with 39 laps.
Ashley King was quickest in the LMP12 class with 55 laps, Simon Pole was second on 54.

Visiting drivers took the first three places in the GT12 C Final with Simon Page winning, Ian Craig second and Emma Sharma third.

Guy Rogers was the winner of the B Final, Mike Simpson took second place and Jack Walsh third. Fast improving Freddie Parker finished fourth with an excellent drive – Well done Freddie – Louis you better watch out for him in the future!

The A final finished in the same order as qualifying, Karl Norris, Richard Norris and Justin Heath.

Ashley King after winning each of the qualifying heats duly won the LMP12 Final, Steve Donald was second and Simon Pole third.
