06-10-20 Spring League Final Round

At last the final round of the Spring League which started on Tuesday 14th January.
The track design was similar to the previous week and produced some close racing.

There were three qualifying rounds and a Final as usual.

Simon Pole was quickest in the qualifying closely followed by Karl Norris both on 44 laps with Darren Ford third a lap down.
Good performances from both Stuart Evans and Nick Wallace with 42 laps to be the leading drivers in F2.
Simon Honeysett was yet again the top F3 driver, Dan Stones was second.

Finals
Simon Honeysett won the GT12 C Final with Paul Carter taking second place, Jake Crawshaw finished third just ahead of Dan Stones.
In the B Final Kayleigh Knight won after a good race with Stuart Evans who finished second with Bob Harley third.
The A Final as usual very close, Simon Pole started from pole position on the grid ahead of League leader Karl Norris and this was how they finished at the end of the race just over two seconds apart, these two being a lap ahead of the rest of the field. Darren Ford took third place, Chelle Snowden fourth and Guy Rogers fifth.

Congratulations to the League winners.

29-09-20 Spring League Round 8

Round 8 of the Spring League this week which had two rounds left to complete when racing was suspended earlier in the year due to Covid-19.

Some very competitive racing as usual, Karl Norris won the A Final with Simon Pole in second place and Guy Rogers third.

The B Final winner was Mike Simpson, Bob Harley took second place and McKenzie Wallace third.

Simon Honeysett was three laps clear in the C Final with Dan Stones finishing in second just ahead of Paul Carter in third.

Next week will be the final round of the Spring League and with some of the top three places in the leagues not yet decided, especially in F2, it should provide a great finish.
By popular request the track design will be the same as this week.

The C Final was won by McKenzie Wallace with some great driving, Mike Simpson was second and Paul Carter third.

Stephen Deacon was the winner of the B Final being a lap ahead of second place driver Stuart Evans with Benn Norris taking third place.

The A Final promised to be a tremendous race and it did not disappoint. With all six drivers lapping at seven seconds or less the pace was very quick. Karl Norris, Simon Pole and Darren Ford pulled away from the rest of the field and the race finished in this order.
It does not get much better to watch than this!!!!

In the B Final Bob Harley took the win, Benn Norris was second and Mike Simpson third.

Darren Ford won the A Final, Karl Norris looked to be assured of a win but finished in second place following a racing incident on the penultimate lap. Kayleigh Knight finished third with Stephen Deacon fourth and also being top F2 driver.

The last race of the evening was the LMP12 Final, could Steve Donald win the race from pole position ahead of Louis Parker?
As usual it was a superb race to watch with all the drivers lapping very quickly, Louis was the eventual winner, Steve taking a very close second place, both being two laps ahead of Fred Hatfield in third place.

Another competitive and entertaining evening, congratulations to the trophy winners.

Next week is round 7 of the Spring League and for those drivers who have raced in every round so far a chance to produce a good result and discount their worst round score to date.
