Spring League Round 2

A new track design with some slightly wider sections than usual produced some very close qualifying times. Richard Hicklin was top qualifier this week with Justin Heath in second place and Chelle Snowden third. A great performance from Jack Walsh earned him fourth place with Adam Hancock fifth to complete the “A” Final line-up.

Finals

The “D” Final quickly turned into a contest between pole position driver Chris Snowden and car 2 Paul Carter, at the finish Chris was the winner with Paul taking second place and Kevin Flamson third.

Caleb Jones had a fine win in the “C” Final with Ian Whiston just five seconds adrift in second place and Gaz de Roeck third being a lap down.

The “B” Final was an exciting race with all drivers setting similar lap-times. Dan Stones won the race with Bob Harley a close second. Nick Wallace was third also setting the quickest who lap in the race. Well done also to Alfie Hart in taking fourth place with some great driving.

As usual we were treated to a thrilling “A” Final with Richard Hicklin lapping everyone else to take the win, Justin Heath finished in second place and Jack Walsh completed a great night for “Team Hart” by taking third. Adam Hancock finished fourth and Chelle Snowden fifth.

Next week is the March Clubnight, with no league points at stake a good time to experiment with different car setups.

07-03-2023 Spring League R1

After the three rounds of qualifying the results were very close in the GT12 class, the top three drivers all being on 39 laps and separated by just over two seconds. Justin Heath being quickest, Richard Norris was in second place and Richard Hicklin third.

In LMP12 Louis Parker was top qualifier followed by Daniel Mountford and Peter Stockton, all being within four seconds of one another.

Finals
Visiting driver Peter Lax won the GT12 D Final with Chris Snowden taking second place and Alex Forster third.
Mike Simpson was the winner of the C Final, it was close for second place though with Caleb Jones just getting the better of Ian Whiston.
Dan Stones had a great win in the B Final being a lap clear of the rest of the field, Josh Flanagan finished second just ahead of Bob Harley in third.
The A Final as usual was very competitive, a win for Richard Hicklin with Richard Norris finishing in second place an top qualifier Justin Heath third.

The LMP12 Final was run at a very fast pace and won by pole position driver Louis Parker with a very impressive 43 laps, Peter Stockton was second on 41 laps and Simon Pole third with 39. A fantastic race to conclude the evening.

21-02-23 Winter League R11

Thirty drivers this week for the final round of the 2022-23 Winter League.

After the three rounds of qualifying Richard Norris was quickest in the GT12 class with 40 laps followed by four drivers on 39, Adam Hancock, Chelle Snowden, Mckenzie Wallace and Kayleigh Knight.
Louis Parker was top qualifier in LMP12 with 43 laps, Karl Norris was in second place on the same lap with Simon Pole third on 42 laps.


Finals
Euan Lees had a convincing win in the GT12 “D” Final being six laps ahead, it was close for the next three places though with Kevin Flamson finishing second, Ian Craig third and Will Lacey fourth just over four seconds apart.

The “C” Final was also a great race with Saul Theobold winning, Ian Whiston second and Caleb Jones third being just 0.14 seconds ahead of Gaz de Roeck.

Bob Harley won the “B” Final with Dan Stones taking second place and Mike Simpson third.

Richard Norris was the winner of the “A” Final with Adam Hancock second and Chelle Snowden was third, there were great performance from both Jack Walsh and Mckenzie Wallace to take fourth and fifth places.

Louis Parker won the last race of the evening the LP12 “A” Final, Karl Norris finished in second place with James Stewart third.

14-02-23 February Clubnight

An ordinary clubnight prior to the final round of the winter league next week.

A great evenings racing as usual with Justin Heath being top qualifier in the GT12 Class with a tremendous 40 laps. Kayleigh Knight, Adam Hancock and Mckenzie Wallace had 39 laps and Dan Stones 38. It was good to see Chris Snowden and Alex Forster racing at Burton again and visiting driver Kylan Carley.

It was close in LMP12, James Stewart having 43 laps, Simon Pole and Karl Norris 42 and Freddie Parker 41.


Kaylan Carley won the GT12 “D” Final with Will Lacey second and Kevin Flamson third.

Caleb Jones was the winner of the “C” Final, Gaz de Roeck finished second and Ethan Wardle third

Adam Cowell was in top form winning the “B” Final with Bob Harley taking second place and Mike Simpson third.

In the “A” Final Justin Heath starting from pole position on the grid set the quickest lap time, but the winner with a great drive was Mckenzie Wallace, Adam Hancock finished second, Kayleigh Knight third and and Stones fourth – all with 39 laps.

James Stewart won the LMP12 Final with 43 laps being two laps clear of Karl Norris and Simon Pole in second and third places with Freddie Parker fourth.

07-02-23 Winter League R10

Four Heats of GT12 and one of LMP12 this week with three qualifying rounds and a final.


Dan Stones was the top qualifier in GT12 followed by Adam Hancock, Kayleigh Knight, Chelle Snowden and McKenzie Wallace all with 39 laps and separated by just over five seconds.

New member William Lacey made a good start by winning the GT12 D Final, Darren Thomas was second and Ian Craig third.

Ian Whiston won the C Final with 34 laps, lapping everyone else in the race, the drivers finishing in the order of the starting grid positions, Paul Carter being second and Caleb Jones third.

In the B Final Bob Harley had a great win finishing just over a second in front of second place driver Nick Wallace, Mike Simpson was third.

The A Final was an extremely close race from start to finish between pole position driver Dan Stones, Adam Hancock, Kayleigh Knight and Chelle Snowden. It was Kayleigh who won, Chelle was second, Adam took third place in the last few seconds of the race and Dan Stones finished fourth. Wow – an exciting end to a thrilling race !!!!!!!

Just the LMP12 Final left, another good race being won by Louis Parker, James Stewart was second, Simon Pole third and Karl Norris fourth.

31-01-23 Winter League R9

Round 9 of the current winter league and after the three qualifying rounds Louis Parker was fastest qualifier with 42 laps, Karl Norris second also on 42 and Simon Pole third with 41. There were a total of five drivers having 40 laps, McKenzie Wallace, Chelle Snowden, Richard Hicklin, Jack Walsh and Adam Hancock setting up the prospect of some exciting finals.

First up was the “D” Final where Caleb Jones had a runaway victory, Kevin Flamson took second place, Darren Thomas third and new member Barry Thomas was fourth.

Next was the “C” Final where Alfie Hart was looking to win for the second week in a row, he was leading for most of the race but in the end had to settle for second place with Mike Simpson taking the win. Adam Cowell was third and Bob Harley fourth.

The “B” Final was a tremendous race, last weeks winner Jack Walsh triumphed again with 40 laps, there were four drivers on 39 laps Nick Wallace taking second place ahead of Freddie Parker by 0.31 seconds, Dan Stones was fourth and Kayleigh Knight fifth.

Louis Parker had a great win in the “A” Final with a storming 43 laps, lapping everyone else in the process. Simon Pole finished second and Karl Norris third, both with 42. Richard Hicklin was fourth and McKenzie Wallace fifth with 41 and Chelle Snowden finished sixth on 38 laps. Another great Final.

24-01-23 Winter League R8

Round 8 of the Winter League with James Hart being top qualifier, Justin Heath second and Karl Norris third.

Finals
Barry Thomas won an all Thomas family “D” Final ahead of Darren.

Alfie Hart had a great win in the “C” Final, Mike Simpson finished in second place and Caleb Jones third.

Not to be outdone by Alfie, Jack Walsh took the win in a close run “B” Final, Richard Hicklin was second and Dan Stones third.

With just the “A” Final remaining could James Hart win to make a hat trick of Final wins for the “Team Hart”.
The answer was yes, Karl Norris finished in second place, Justin Heath was third, McKenzie Wallace fourth, Adam Hancock fifth and Kayleigh Knight sixth. An excellent race!

Winter League Round 9 is next week.

17-01-23 Winter League R7

Round 7 of the winter League, Louis Parker was top qualifier on a fast track layout ahead of Karl Norris in second place, Kayleigh Knight third, Richard Norris fourth, McKenzie Wallace fifth and Chelle Snowden sixth.

Finals
The D Final was won by Ian Craig with new member Darren Thomas finishing in second place.

“Team Hart” took the first two places on the start grid in the “C” Final with Jack Walsh on pole and Alfie Hart car 2. Alfie made a great start and was leading the race until he had to retire on lap 7. Jack went on to win the race, Mike Simpson was second and Ian Whiston third after a close battle with Caleb Jones who finished fourth.

The “B” Final was a great race with Josh Flanagan starting from fourth position on the grid winning the race by less than a second from car 1 Adam Hancock in second place. A good drive also from Freddie Parker to take third place with Bob Harley fourth.

Louis Parker had a convincing “A” Final win with 45 laps, Kayleigh Knight was the top “Team Norris” driver taking second place with 42 laps, half a second ahead of Karl Norris in third. McKenzie Wallace finished fourth and Chelle Snowden fifth.

10-01-23 January Clubnight

An ordinary clubnight this week with three qualifying rounds and a final for the twenty one drivers.

Louis Parker won the A Final, Karl Norris was second and Richard Hicklin third

Nick Wallace was the winner of the B Final, Dan Stones finished in second place and Freddie Parker third

The C Final winner was Josh Flanagan, Mike Simpson took second place and Saul Theobold third.

Caleb Jones won the D Final ahead of Gaz de Roeck in second place and Ian Craig third.


The Winter League resumes with Round 7 next week.

With four rounds remaining Karl Norris leads F1, Dan Stones F2 and Ian Whiston F3.

03-01-23 Xmas Trophy Meeting

The new years racing started with the Xmas Trophy meeting which was originally planned for the 20th December 2022 but postponed due a power cut at the race venue.

A great evening of very competitive racing, Louis Parker being the top qualifier with Karl Norris in second place, both drivers on 43 laps. Richard Norris was third with 42 laps, Justin Heath and Simon Pole both had 41 laps and Adam Hancock 40, these drivers making up the “A” Final.

Junior member Caleb Jones won the “D” Final with 34 laps being three laps clear of Gaz de Roeck in second place with Ian Craig finishing third.

Adam Cowell took his first winners trophy at Burton in the “C” Final on 36 laps just ahead of Mike Simpson with Saul Theobold in third place on 35 laps and being the top “Team Theobold” driver of the evening, Ben Theobold finishing fourth.

Kayleigh Knight had an impressive win in the “B” Final lapping all the other drivers with 40 laps, some super driving by Freddie Parker earned him second place with Josh Flanagan third and Dan Stones fourth.

Just the “A” final left which as usual was a thrilling race to watch. Louis Parker starting from pole position was the eventual winner, it was very close though with Karl Norris just over a second adrift, both drivers with 42 laps. A great battle for third place also with Justin Heath finishing 0.4 seconds ahead of Richard Norris with 41 laps. Simon Pole took fifth place with 40 laps just over half a second quicker than Adam Hancock in sixth. A great end to the evenings racing.
