04-03-25 Winter League Round 10

The last round of Winter league this week with the scores after nine rounds in F1 and F3 in particular were extremely close. Karl Norris and Freddie Parker were tied on points in F1and in F3 Ian Wyatt was just a single point ahead of Jacob Milne.

After the three qualifying rounds Freddie Parker was the only driver to achieve 43 laps to take pole position in the “A” Final ahead of Karl Norris and Simon Pole, Benn Norris, Chelle Snowden and F2 League leader Ian Whiston. Jacob Milne was a lap quicker than Ian Wyatt in F3, both drivers making the “B” Final.

Finals

Carly Hopper won the “D” Final being six laps ahead of second place driver Darren Thomas, with Barry Thomas a further four laps adrift.

The “C” final winner was Mike Simpson, Will Lacey took second place and George Hopper finished third.

A great “B” Final, producing a very close finish between Tim Bailey and Richard Johnston with Tim taking second place, both with 40 laps. Junior member Jacob Milne was the highest placed F3 driver, having an impressive 39 laps, making him the overall winner in F3.

Freddie Parker starting in pole position won the “A” final and the F1 league with a tremendous drive, being a lap clear of Karl Norris in second place. Benn Norris was third, Simon Pole fourth , Ian Whiston fifth and also winning the F2 league. Chelle Snowden finished sixth. Well done Freddie!

25-02-25 Superleague 2025 Round 1

Very close in the qualifying this week with three drivers on 41 laps, Freddie Parker was quickest followed by Karl Norris and Josh Flanagan. Four drivers were on 39 laps, Adam Hancock, Chelle Snowden, Simon Pole and Benn Norris.

Finals

“D” Final

A win good for Kevin Flamson with 28 laps, Carly Hopper finished in second place on 26 laps with Darren Thomas in third place another two laps adrift.

“C” Final

Another good result for Alex Forster winning the race with 35 laps with Kevin Morris taking second place a lap down. Jacob Milne set the quickest lap time of the race and finished third.

“B” Final

Noah Bailey won the race with 40 laps being just over two seconds ahead of Benn Norris in second place, Ian Whiton took third place with 39 laps.

“A” Final

Another great race with Karl Norris and Josh Flanagan setting equal fastest laps in the race. Karl was the winner on 42 laps, Josh finished second with 41 laps and Adam Hancock was third having 40 laps. Simon Pole was fourth, Chelle Snowden fifth and Freddie Parker sixth.

18-02-25 Winter League Round 9

Twenty Eight drivers this week for the penultimate round of the 2024/25 Winter league.

After the three rounds of qualifying Karl Norris was quickest followed by Freddie Parker, Simon Pole, Chelle Snowden, Josh Flanagan and Noah Bailey all being closely matched for speed and making the “A” Final.

Finals

Carly Hopper won the “E” Final having 22 laps with Darren Thomas being the top “Team Thomas” driver taking second place on 21 laps and Eric Enion finished in third place on 19 laps.

The “D” Final was a good race with visiting driver George Hopper winning with 32 laps, a fine drive by Saul Theobold earned him second place, being two laps down on the leader. Will Lacey finished third a further lap down.

Kevin Morris won the “C” Final by just 0.42 seconds after a tremendous race with Ben Theobold, both having 34 laps. Visiting driver Philip Cooper was third with 32 laps.

Benn Norris was the winner of the “B” Final with 37 laps, another close race for second and third places with Adam Hancock finishing just over two seconds ahead of Ian Whiston both on 36 laps.

Just the “A” Final to go and it did not disappoint being a thrilling race with all six drivers finishing with 38 laps. Karl Norris started from pole position on the grid but it was Freddie Parker and Noah Bailey who set equal quickest lap times with Freddie winning the race, Noah taking second place and Karl Norris third. Chelle Snowden was fourth, Simon Pole fifth and Josh Flanagan sixth. Races don’t get much better to watch than this!

Just the final round of the Winter League remaining which will be held on Tuesday 4th March. It should provide an exciting finish especially in F1 where Karl Norris and Freddie Parker have equal scores at present and also F3 where Ian Wyatt is just a single point ahead of Jacob Milne.

Looking at the February “Personal Bests” there were very few improvements on the previous two weeks.

Many thanks to Chris Snowden for running race control and everyone who helped set up and store away all the equipment. Some extra people helping would be much appreciated especially when running five heats.

11-02-25 February Clubnight

An ordinary Clubnight on a track similar to last week, the idea being that drivers could see if they had improved their performances by checking their “Personal Bests” for the February Track design on the rc-results website.

Three qualifying rounds and a final as usual. Three drivers achieved 39 laps in qualifying, Karl Norris being the quickest followed by Adam Hancock and Josh Flanagan.

Prior to the finals the Club chairperson Chelle Snowden presented the Trophies for first, second and third places in all three formulas, well done to all the winners.

Finals

Another “D” Final win for Kevin Flamson with 25 laps and being a lap ahead of Carly Hopper in second place. Darren Thomas was third and the top “Team Thomas ” driver this week.

The “C” Final was a good race with the first three drivers being very evenly matched for pace. A great drive by Alex Forster to win from fourth position on the start grid. Kevin Morris was second and Paul Wallis third. all three drivers finishing with 33 laps.

Richard Johnston won the “B” Final on 37 laps, Jacob Milne was second with 36 laps and Ian Whiston third a further lap down and also setting the quickest lap in the race.

The “A” Final winner was Karl Norris, achieving 39 laps as in qualifying but quicker. Chelle Snowden was in top form taking second place on 38 laps, with Adam Hancock being just under a second behind in third place. Benn Norris was fourth and Josh Flanagan fifth.

04-02-25 Winter League Round 8

With just three rounds to go in the league Karl Norris and Freddie Parker were joint leaders of F1, each with 595 points. After the three qualifying rounds Freddie was quickest, with Karl in second place just over a second adrift. Simon Pole took third place, Noah Bailey fourth, Benn Norris fifth and visiting driver Andy Cottom sixth, completing the “A” Final line up.

Finals

Kevin Flamson was the winner of the “D” Final being two laps clear of second placed driver Darren Thomas, with Barry Thomas a further three laps adrift.

In the “C” Final Jacob Milne set the quickest lap time and won the race, it was very close for second and third places between Mike Simpson and Paul Carter. At the finish Mike was second and Paul third. A good drive also from visiting driver Carly Hopper who finished fourth.

Gavin Rice won the “B Final with 36 laps, Richard Johnston took second place on 35 laps and Ian Whiston was third with 34 laps.

An exciting “A” Final was won by Simon Pole with 38 laps starting from third position on the start grid. It was extremely close for next three places with Karl Norris taking second position, Freddie Parker third and Noah Bailey fourth, all with 37 laps. Benn Norris was fifth and visiting driver Andy Cottom sixth, both on 36 laps.

Karl Norris now leads F1 by a single point from Freddie Parker in second place with just two rounds left. Ian Whiston is the leader of F2. In F3 Ian Wyatt is the leader with Jacob Milne leading F3 Junior.

28-01-25 Winter League Round 7

Only two seconds separated the top four drivers after the three qualifying rounds. Josh Flanagan was quickest followed by Karl Norris, Freddie Parker and Noah Bailey. Simon Pole took the remaining place in the “A” Final on a track very similar to the previous few weeks.

Finals

Carly Hopper won the “D” Final, being four laps ahead of Eric Enion. There was a close race for third place between the two “Team Thomas” drivers, both finished on the same lap with Barry Thomas being ahead of Darren.

In the “C” Final Ian Wyatt won the race from pole position on the start grid, it was close though for the remaining three places, Mike Simpson was second, Will Lacey third and Paul Carter fourth. Paul also set the quickest lap time of the race, being one hundredth of a second quicker than Ian.

Ian Whiston had an impressive win in the “B” Final, Kayleigh Knight having not raced for for some time at the Club took second place and Jacob Milne finished third with another good performance.

A great “A” Final with the first four drivers finishing within 4.03 Seconds of one another, the winner being Freddie Parker with Karl Norris in second place, Josh Flanagan third and Simon Pole fourth.

21-01-25 Winter League Round 6

A similar track layout as the previous two weeks, Karl Norris being the top qualifier , Freddie Parker second, Josh Flanagan third and Noah Bailer fourth, all on 38 laps.

Finals

Visiting driver Carly Hopper won the “D” Final with Kevin Flamson finishing in second place and Barry Thomas third.

A good win for Alex Forster in the “C” Final being just over 3.5 Seconds ahead of Louis Spate in second place both on 34 laps. Ian Wyatt set the quickest lap in the race and finished third.

In the “B” Final all the drivers finished in the same order as their start positions. Chelle Snowden won, Ian Whiston took second place, both drivers being on 37 laps. Lee Speight took third place and with 36 laps. The fastest lap in the race was set by Jacob Milne who finished fourth.

Another thrilling “A” Final with Freddie Parker winning, being just ahead of Karl Norris in second place, both having 39 laps. Josh Flanagan was third and Noah Bailey fourth on 38 laps, Benn Norris and Gavin Rice were fifth and sixth with 37 laps.

After six rounds Karl Norris leads F1, but now only by a single point from Freddie Parker. Ian Whiston leads F2, Ian Wyatt has a commanding lead in F3 and Jacob Milne is the highest placed Junior member in F3. With four more rounds to go and the best eight from a possible ten rounds to count things could still change significantly.

14-01-25 January Clubnight

An ordinary clubnight this week with no league points at stake and using the same track layout as the previous week in order for drivers to see if they could improve their results.

Qualifying

Karl Norris was quickest in the GT12 class with 41 laps, followed by Josh Flanagan, Noah Bailey, Benn Norris and Chelle Snowden on 40 laps.

There were two driver with 46 laps in the LMP 12 class with Louis Parker taking pole position in the final being just 0.14 seconds ahead of James Hart. Freddie Parker was third on 45 laps, Simon Pole fourth a further lap down.

GT12 Finals

A very close race in the “D” Final between Kevin Flamson and Paul Carter with Kevin taking the win just 0.41 seconds ahead of Paul. Eric Enion finished third.

Ian Wyatt won the “C” Final having 36 laps and being two laps ahead the battle for second, third and fourth places. At the finish there was only 2.39 seconds between the three drivers, Mike Simpson taking second place, Will Lacey third and Alex Forster fourth.

The “B” final was won by Richard Johnston on 39 laps with Ian Whiston taking second place on the same laps. Paul Wallis was third with 37 laps.

As usual we were treated to a great “A” Final with Karl Norris winning and Josh taking second place, both with 41 laps. Benn Norris finished in third place and Chelle Snowden fourth both with 40 laps with Noah Bailey fifth on 39 laps.

LMP 12 Final

A great race this run at high speed, Louis Parker started from pole position but it was James Hart who was the eventual winner after a tremendous race with 45 laps. Louis took second place just under three seconds adrift, Simon Pole was third and Freddie Parker fourth, both having 44 laps.

07-01-25 Winter League Round 5

Qualifying

Justin Heath was top qualifier in the GT12 Class being just under four seconds ahead of Gavin Rice in second place, both with 39 laps. Richard Johnston was third with 38 laps and Ian Whiston fourth on 37 laps. A great performance by Jacob Milne with 36 laps to take fifth place being just over a second quicker than Steven Myall, this completing the “A” Final line up.

A heat of LMP12 this week which was very competitive. Louis Parker was quickest on 44 Laps being just under three and a half seconds ahead of James Hart. Freddie Parker was third and Simon Pole fourth, both with 43 Laps and Alfie Hart in Fifth on 41 Laps.

Finals

GT12 “C” Final

A win for Kevin Flamson on 27 laps, being two laps clear of visiting driver Carly Hopper in second place, with Barry Thomas finishing third on 14 laps.

GT12 “B” Final

An exciting race this with all six drivers being very evenly matched. At the finish the first four drivers were all on 35 laps with Alex Forster being the winner from last place on the start grid. It was very close finish though with Pole position driver Paul Wallis just 0.17 seconds behind in second place. Kevin Morris was third and Mike Simpson fourth. Will Lacey was fifth and Ian Wyatt sixth both with 34 laps.

GT12 “A” Final

Justin Heath was on top form winning the race, being the only driver on 39 laps. Second place went to Richard Johnston with 38 laps with another excellent drive by Jacob Milne to take third place with 36 laps. being just over a second ahead of Steven Myall in fourth place. A good evenings racing for “Team Myall”. Ian Whiston finished fifth on 34 laps with Gavin Rice sixth with 29 laps.

LMP12 “A” Final

A tremendous race to watch this with the first three drivers all having 44 laps. Louis Parker was the winner by just 0.17 second from James Hart in second place with both drivers having identical fastest lap times. Freddie Parker took third place with Simon Pole and Alfie Hart being fourth and fifth, both o 42 laps. A great race to conclude the evenings racing.

It is planned to use the same track design next week.

17-12-24 Xmas Trophy Meeting

The last race meeting of 2024 with Freddie Parker being top qualifier ahead of Simon Pole in second place and Leigh Speight third.

Finals

Kevin Flamson won the “D” Final. Barry Thomas took second place with his car performing better than it did in qualifying and Benedict Enion finished third..

The “C” Final was a very close race, Louis Speight set the quickest lap but Ian Wyatt was the winner on 34 laps, Louis second with 33 laps and Will Lacey third on 32 laps.

A great win for Ian Whiston in the “B” Final with 38 laps, being three laps clear of Jacob Milne in second place with Mike Simpson a further two laps adrift in third.

The last race of the evening, the “A” Final was the best of the evening with the first three drivers all finishing on 39 laps. It was very close at the finish with Freddie Parker being the winner being just under 0.4 seconds ahead of Simon Pole in second place with Lee Speight third. A great race to end the 2024 season.

After storing away the track markers, Chelle Snowden presented the Trophies.
