09-01-24 January Clubnight

An enjoyable evenings racing on a great track layout.

The qualifying was close, Karl Norris being quickest in GT12 with Justin Heath in second place, both with 39 Laps. There were four drivers having 38 Laps – Kayleigh Knight, Benn Norris, Simon Pole and Adam Hancock. An excellent result for “Team Norris” in taking three of the top four places.

Louis Parker was quickest in LMP12 with Freddie Parker second and Dan Stones third.

Finals

New Members Nick Newcombe and Clark Newcombe took first and third places in the “D” Final with Ian Craig finishing in second place.

Darren Holyland won the “C” Final with Alex Forster having the fastest lap of the race and taking second place just over four seconds behind. Will Lacey was third.

Guy Rogers was the winner in the “B” final after a very close contest with Sam Pope and Richard Johnston, all finishing with 36 Laps.

Karl Norris won an exciting “A” Final with 39 Laps, Justin Heath took second place and set the fastest lap, Simon pole was third and Adam Hancock fourth, all with 38 Laps.

The last race of the evening was the LMP12 Final and was won by Freddie Parker, Dan Stones finished in second place and Louis Parker third.

02-01-24 Winter League Round 6

Twenty six drivers braved the inclement road conditions for the first race meeting of 2024.

Karl Norris was the top qualifier with Freddie Parker and Simon Pole being second and third, all three with 41 laps. Chelle Snowden was fourth and Kayleigh Knight fifth both on 40 laps.

Finals

Ian Craig had a runaway victory in the “D” Final being five laps clear of second place driver Clark Newcombe with Barry Thomas taking third place a lap ahead of Darren Thomas to be the top “Team Thomas” driver of the evening.

Visiting driver Peter Lax won a closely contested “C” Final with Steven Myall finishing in second place and Alex Forster third.

The “B” final was a close race with Benn Norris winning from Bob Harley in second place with Gavin Rice finishing a lap down in third.

Karl Norris was the winner of the “A” Final starting from pole position, it was close though with Simon Pole taking second place less than two seconds behind. Chelle Snowden finished in third place and Alfie Hart fourth, also being the best Junior Member.

19-12-23 XMAS Trophy Meeting

The final race meeting of 2023 with the usual format of three qualifying rounds and a final.

Kevin Flamson won the “E” Final with visiting driver Clark Newcombe taking second place, Darren Thomas third and Eric Enion fourth.

The “D” Final was a close result with Will Lacey winning, new member Brynn Hall finishing in second place and Joseph Norris third.

Caleb Jones was first across the finishing line in the “C” Final after a close race with Mike Simpson, with Joseph Norris taking third place.

The “B” Final was won by Kayleigh Knight with Dan Stones in second place just over two seconds ahead of Gavin Rice who was third.

Karl Norris won the “A” Final from pole position on the starting grid. There were tremendous performances from junior members Freddie Parker and Alfie Hart who battled it out for second and third places. Freddie finishing second and Alfie third. A great race to conclude the evenings racing.

The Trophies were presented at the end of the evening by Chelle Snowden, congratulations to all the trophy winners.

12-12-23 December Clubnight

Three qualifying rounds and a final for the December Clubnight.

James Hart was the top qualifier followed by Karl Norris, Simon Pole, Richard Norris, Freddie Parker and Josh Flanagan, these making up the “A” Final.

Finals

Ian Craig set the fastest lap in the “E” Final and won the race, with Barry Thomas finishing second on the same lap and Kevin Flamson third being a lap down.

In the “D” Final Darren Holyland and new member James Adkins had a very close race with Darren winning with 32 laps, just over a second ahead of James in second place. Louis Speight finished third, Paul Galbraith fourth and Will Lacey fifth – all three drivers on 31 laps.

Dan Stones won the “C” Final by a lap but it a close result for the next three places with less than two seconds separating the drivers. Mike Simpson was second, Richard Johnston third and Daniel Lacey fourth.

A great “B” Final, the winner being Adam Hancock with Benn Norris taking second place less than a second adrift. Lee Speight was third being two laps behind the leaders.

05-12-23 Superleague 2023 Round 6

Thirty-one drivers this week for the final round of the 2023 Superleague.

After the three qualifying rounds Karl Norris was the quickest being just 6/100th of a second ahead of Louis Parker, both drivers with 41 laps. Justin Heath was third and Simon Pole fourth on 40 laps, Benn Norris and Freddie Parker took fifth and sixth places with 39 laps and Gavin Rice took the remaining “A” Final place with 38 laps.

A Simon Pole track design this week having to avoid the Hall Christmas decorations.

Finals

First up was the “E” Final which was won by Joshua Hinks with 28 laps, racing at Burton for the first time. Kevin Flamson was second and Ian Craig third.

Caleb Jones had a great win in the “D” Final on 35 laps, Louis Speight took second place on 32 laps and Steven Myall was third on 31 laps.

The “C” Final developed into a very close race between Josh Freeman and Richard Johnston with Josh being the winner by just over a second, both driver having 36 laps. Alex Forster finished in third place with 35 laps.

Chelle Snowden and Adam Hancock had a great race in the “B” final with Chelle finishing in front by just 0.45 seconds to take the win with 39 laps, Adam fiishing second. Dan Stones was third on 38 laps.

Another very exciting final this week with Karl Norris starting from pole position and Louis Parker second on the grid both dropped down the race order after just over two minutes into the race. Justin Heath was quick to take advantage, taking the lead and with some great driving holding on to it to win the race with 41 laps. Karl Norris fought back up to second place just 0.72 seconds adrift. Simon Pole was third, Louis Parker fourth and Benn Norris fifth, all with 40 laps. Freddie Parker finished sixth and Gavin Rice seventh.

28-11-23 Winter League Round 5

Karl Norris was top qualifier this week with Simon Pole in second place 5.4 seconds adrift, both drivers achieving 38 laps. There were three drivers with 37 laps, Freddie Parker was the quickest taking third place with some great driving, Gavin Rice was fourth and Benn Norris fifth.

Before the Finals Chelle Snowden presented Alex Forster the Summer League F3 Junior Winners trophy, well done Alex!

Finals

Brynn Hall won the “D” Final with Ian Craig taking second place and Kevin Flamson third.

The “C” Final winner was Mike Simpson, Ian Whiston finished second, also setting the quickest lap of the race and Darren Holyland was third.

A very close “B” Final with Chelle Snowden being the winner just 0.29 seconds ahead of Dan Stones, Bob Harley took third place.

A great “A” Final as usual, Karl Norris winning from pole position with 39 laps, Simon Pole was second ,Freddie Parker third and Benn Norris fourth, all three drivers with 38 laps and Gavin Rice was fifth on 37 laps.

21-11-23 November Clubnight

A Simon Pole track design this week, Louis Parker was top qualifier with 38 laps, Karl Norris was second on 37 laps followed by Simon Pole, Justin Heath and Benn Norris with 36 and Richard Norris, Freddie Parker, Dan Stones and Chelle Snowden with 35 laps.

Prior to the finals the Summer League trophies were presented by Chelle Snowden.

Finals

In the “D” Final Kevin Flamson was in top form to win by four laps from Robert Dutton in second place with Emma Dutton finishing third a further lap down.

The “C” Final was won by Richard Johnston with 33 laps, also having the quickest lap of the race, Mike Simpson was second on 32 laps and Josh Freeman third with 31.

Club Chairman Bob Harley set the fastest lap in the “B” Final but it was Alfie Hart who won a very close race with 33 laps, Bob was second and Kayleigh Knight third – both with 32 laps.

The “A” Final produced another tremendous race that was won by Louis Parker, Karl Norris took second place, both drivers with 36 laps. Dan Stones was third on 35 laps being just 0.33 seconds ahead of Simon Pole in fourth position. Benn Norris was fifth with 34 laps with Freddie Parker sixth on 33.

14-11-23 Winter League Round 4

A new track layout this week designed by Courtney Orme and Ian Craig.

After the three qualifying rounds Karl Norris was quickest with an impressive 41 laps. It was close for the remaining places with Adam Hancock, Benn Norris, Chelle Snowden, Freddie Parker, Bob Harley and Kayleigh Knight all achieving 39 laps.

Finals

Steven Myall won the “D” Final after a good race with Kevin Flamson who finished in second place, Emma Dutton was third.

Josh Freeman lapped everyone else to win the “C” Final with 35 laps, Caleb Jones was second on 34 laps and Darren Holyland third with 33 laps.

Gavin Rice was the winner of the “B” Final with 38 laps, Alfie Hart and Mike Simpson were second and third, both on 36 laps.

In the “A” Final, for the second week running the drivers finished in their start order, the winner being Karl Norris with 40 laps.

Adam Hancock was second and Benn Norris third, both with 39 laps. Chelle Snowden, Freddie Parker and Bob Harley were fourth, Fifth and sixth, all with 38 laps.

07-11-23 Winter League Round 3

Another James Hart design track layout this week.

It was very close in the qualifying as usual with Karl Norris, Simon Pole and Justin Heath getting 41 laps followed by Richard Norris, Adam Hancock, Benn Norris and Kayleigh Knight on 40 laps.

Ian Craig had a good drive to win the “E” Final being three laps ahead of pole position driver Kevin Flamson, with Robert Dutton taking third place.

Darren Holyland won the “D” Final ahead of Caleb Jones and Alex Forster who finished second and third, all three drivers being on the same lap. A good start for new member Richard Johnston in taking fourth place in his first race a Burton.

Another good race for Alfie Hart who won the “C” Final being just over two seconds ahead of Gavin Rice in second place with Mike Simpson finishing third.

The “B” Final was won by Benn Norris with Kayleigh Knight taking second place and Dan Stones third.

Another tremendous “A” Final with the drivers finishing in their starting grid order with just four seconds separating the first three drivers. Karl Norris was the winner, Simon Pole second, Justin Heath third, Richard Norris fourth, all with 40 laps and Adam Hancock fifth with 39.

31-10-23 Winter League Round 2

A James Hart track design this week with twenty four drivers racing.

Karl Norris was top qualifier with visiting drivers Peter Stockton and Daniel Mountford toking second and third places. Kayleigh Knight was fourth, Dan Stones fifth and Chelle Snowden sixth, these making up the “A” Final.

Finals

Steven Myall won the “D” Final with 25 laps, Kevin Flamson was second on the same lap, being four laps clear of Robert Dutton who finished third.

The “C” Final was close with Ian Whiston winning being three and a half seconds ahead of Josh Freeman in second place, both drivers having 32 Laps, Mike Simpson took third place being a lap down.

The “B” Final was an incredibly race to watch with five of the six drivers finishing on the same lap. Benn Norris started from pole position in the race but after a thrilling battle with Freddie Parker, Alfie Hart, Gavin Rice and Guy Rogers it was Freddie who crossed the finishing line first to win and also set the quickest lap time. Alfie Hart was just half a second adrift in second place, Gavin Rice was third, Benn Norris fourth and Guy Rogers fifth with Bob Harley sixth. A great race, it was good to see such good performances from Club junior members Freddie and Alfie.

Just the “A” Final to go where Karl Norris was the winner with 37 laps, Daniel Mountford took second place on 36 laps with Peter Stockton just a second behind. A good drive from Chelle Snowden secured her fourth place on 35 laps, Kayleigh Knight was fifth with 34 laps and Dan stones sixth on 32.
