24-10-01 Summer League Round 11

The final round of the 2024 Summer League this week with Karl Norris being fastest in qualifying on 37 laps and Josh Flanagan second on 36 laps. Freddie Parker was third with 35 laps, Gavin Rice and Richard Johnston taking fourth and fifth places with 34 laps and Benn Norris sixth with 33 laps to complete the “A” Final line up.

Finals

Ian Craig had yet another win in the “D” Final with new member Jaylen Lacey taking second place just two laps adrift. Well done Jaylen! Darren Thomas took third place with Barry Thomas finishing fourth. Advantage Darren this week !

Paul Wallis won the “C” Final with visiting driver Ian Wyatt taking second place, Jacob Milne was third.

The “B” Final was won by Bob Harley, it was a very close finish with Ian Whiston taking second place just 0.52 seconds adrift. Steven Myall finished third being a lap down on the leaders.

Yet again a tremendous “A” Final producing an extremely close finish. Karl Norris was the winner with Josh Flanagan taking second place 0.32 seconds behind, both drivers with 37 laps. Gavin Rice was third on 35 laps with Benn Norris in fourth place, being just over a second ahead of Richard Johnston, both with 34 laps.

24-09-24 September Clubnight

There were three drivers with 39 laps after the three qualifying rounds. Karl Norris was quickest, Freddie Parker was in second place just a second slower and Justin Heath third a further seven seconds adrift.

Finals

Ian Craig won the “D” Final, two laps ahead of Eric Enion in second place. Barry Thomas finished third, being the top “Team Thomas” driver this week. Darren Thomas was fourth and Jayden Lacey fifth in his first race at the Club.

Alex Forster was the winner of the “C” Final being a lap ahead of Mike Simpson in second place with Kevin Flamson finishing third.

In the “B” Final Bob Harley set the quickest lap and also won the race. Richard Johnston was second, Steven Myall third, with Kevin Morris less than a second behind in fourth place.

A tremendous “A” Final to conclude the evenings racing with Karl Norris being the winner. A great performance from Freddie Parker earned him second second place just 2.4 seconds adrift and being 1.5 seconds ahead of Justin Heath in third place. Chelle Snowden was fourth a further five seconds down, with in form Ian Whiston finishing fifth.

17-09-24 Summer League Round 10

The penultimate round of the Summer League this week with three qualifying rounds and a final as usual.

Karl Norris was top qualifier being the only driver to achieve 39 laps. There were four drivers with 38 laps, Freddie Parker in second place, Josh Flanagan third, Adam Hancock fourth and Kayleigh Knight fifth.

Finals

The first race was the “D” Final in which Ian Craig and Kevin Flamson had a close race with Kevin winning on 28 laps ahead of Ian on 26 laps. Barry Thomas finished in third place.

A good win in the “C” Final from pole position on the start grid for Kevin Morris on 35 laps, Mike Simpson was second on 34 laps and Paul Wallis third with 32 laps.

The “B” Final was an incredibly close race with just five seconds separating the first four drivers at the finish, all with 37 laps. Ian Whiston started from pole position and set the quickest lap of the race, but it was Richard Johnston who won, Lee Speight was second, Ian Whiston third and Bob Harley fourth.

Freddie Parker set the fastest lap by just 1/100th of a second in the “A” Final. A great race this with Karl Norris winning, Freddie taking second place, both drivers on 39 laps. Josh Flanagan was third and Adam Hancock fourth, both having 38 laps. Benn Norris was fifth on 37 laps and Kayleigh Knight sixth.

Just one more round remaining in the Summer League, this will be held on Tuesday 1st October.

10-09-24 Summer League Round 9

An excellent track design this week producing some exciting racing. Karl Norris was quickest after the three qualifying rounds, closely followed by Josh Flanagan in second place, both being two laps ahead of Guy Rogers, Simon Pole and Benn Norris in third, fourth and fifth places.

Finals

“D” Final

A good start for “Team Norris” with Ethan Wardle winning, Ian Craig taking second place and Eric Enion third.

“C” Final

A win for Alex Forster, being a lap ahead of Kevin Morris in second place, Mike Simpson was third. Well done Alex.

“B” Final

Kayleigh Knight won a very close race with Bob Harley taking second place and Richard Johnston third. All three drivers finishing on the same laps and within three seconds apart.

“A” Final

A tremendous race run at a very fast pace, Karl Norris was the winner with 42 laps from pole position with Josh Flanagan taking second place less than three seconds adrift. Simon Pole was third with 40 laps, Benn Norris fourth and Guy Rogers in fifth place, both on 39 laps.

03-09-24 Summer League Round 8

After the three qualifying rounds Karl Norris was quickest with 35 laps followed by Chelle Snowden and Benn Norris on 34 laps. There were three drivers having 33 laps, Ian Whiston in fourth place, Richard Johnston fifth and Bob Harley sixth.

Finals

Ian Craig had a convincing win in the “D” Final, five laps clear of second place driver Darren Thomas, with Barry Thomas taking third place and Benedict Enion fourth.

The “C Final winner was Steve Myall with Kevin Flamson in second place.

Bob Harley won the “B” Final by two laps. It was very close for second and third places between Mike Simpson and Alex Forster with their race positions changing several times during the race. At the finish Mike took second place with Alex just under a second adrift in third.

The “A” final was as usual a great race to watch, Karl Norris being the winner with a tremendous drive to complete 36 laps. Chelle Snowden took second place just 1.65 seconds ahead of Benn Norris in third place, both drivers having 34 laps. Fourth place went to Ian Whiston with Richard Johnston being just a third of a second behind, both on 33 laps.

27-08-24 August Clubnight

Simon Pole was the fastest in qualifying this week having 34 laps with Guy Rogers being just 0.13 seconds adrift in second place. Justin Heath was third and Adam Hancock fourth, all four drivers on the same laps.

Finals

Eric Enion was the winner of the “D” Final with Barry Thomas six laps behind in second place. Pole position driver Ian Craig had to retire from the race after two laps.

The “C” Final drivers finished in their start grid order, the winner Caleb Jones had an excellent race with 30 laps. Paul Wallis finished in second place, Will Lacey third and Kevin Flamson fourth.

Bob Harley was in top form, winning the “B” final with 33 laps, Ian Whiston finished in second place with 32 laps and Mike Simpson was third on 27 laps.

Another extremely close “A” Final with all five drivers having 34 laps. Simon Pole was the winner, Chelle Snowden second, Guy Rogers third, Justin Heath fourth and Adam Hancock fifth.

20-08-24 Superleague Round 4

Three drivers having 37 laps after the three rounds of qualifying. Karl Norris was the quickest, Simon Pole was in second place following a good run in the third round and Josh Flanagan was third.

Finals

First up was the “D” Final which proved to be a close race with the first three drivers all finishing on the same laps. Darren Thomas was the winner and top “Team Thomas” driver, with Barry Thomas in second place and Benedict Enion finishing third.

The “C” Final was won by Will Lacey with some great driving, Mike Simpson finished in second place being a lap down. A good performance also from Ian Craig to take third position.

Ian Whiston won a great “B” final, Richard Johnston took second place. Pole position driver Bob Harley fought his way back up into third place after a slow first lap.

In the “A” Final only four and a half seconds separated the first three drivers at the finish. Karl Norris was the winner, Josh Flanagan took second place just ahead of Simon pole. Benn Norris was fourth and Dan Stones fifth.

06-08-24 Summer League Round 6

A Josh Flanagan track design this week on which he was quickest after the three qualifying rounds being the top qualifier. Karl Norris was in second place and Dan Stones third, all three drivers with 30 laps..

Finals

Ian Craig won the “D” Final with 19 laps, it was very close for second and third places between the two “Team Thomas” drivers, second place went to Darren and Barry was third, both having the same number of laps.

The “C” Final drivers were all very evenly matched for speed, at the finish Mike Simpson was the winner, Paul Wallis a close second, Gaz de Roeck was third being just ahead of Will Lacey.

A great win for club Chairman Bob Harley in the “B” final with 28 laps, Kevin Morris took second place ahead of Ian Whiston, both with 27 laps.

In the last race of the evening Josh Flanagan started from pole position on the grid and as usual the “A” Final produced tremendous race to watch. At the finish it was Karl Norris who won, Josh was second and Dan Stones third – all with 30 laps. Adam Hancock was fourth on 29 laps, Benn Norris and Richard Johnston finished in fifth and sixth places with 28 laps.

30-07-24 Summer League Round 5

It was very close in the Qualifying with Karl Norris being quickest by 0.25 of a second from Josh Flanagan in second place with Simon Pole being third just under a further three seconds behind Josh, all three with 35 Laps.

Prior to the Finals the Spring League trophies were presented by Chelle Snowden.

The “D” final winner was Kevin Morris on 31 laps with Gaz de Roeck and Saul Theobold finishing second and third respectively a lap down on the leader.

The “C” final was won by Richard Johnston with 32 laps, Ian Whiston was second. also with 32 laps and Caleb Jones third on 31.

The “B” final was an extremely close race with Dan Stones winning, Andrew Slingsby taking second place and Guy Rogers third – all with 34 laps.

The “A” Final was as usual great to watch with “Team Norris” taking the top two places. Karl was the winner, Benn finished second, Adam Hancock third and Simon Pole fourth – all four drivers with 34 laps. Chelle Snowden was fifth and Josh Flanagan sixth.

23-07-24 Summer League Round 4

Josh Flanagan was the top qualifier this week being the only driver to make 39 laps. There were five drivers with 38 laps, Adam Hancock in second place, Dan Stones third, Benn Norris fourth, Justin Heath fifth and Freddie Parker in sixth place, these all making the “A” Final.

Finals

Ian Craig was the winner of the “E” Final by a margin of seven laps, with Michael Myall taking second place in his first evenings racing at Burton. Barry Thomas was third.

Some very consistent driving by all the drivers in the “D” final, the winner was Caleb Jones, Alex Forster took second place with Will Lacey just over two seconds behind in third place.

The “C” Final produced a very close finish with Mike Simpson taking the win, Saul Theobold being just 1.5 seconds behind in second place. Peter Lax was third.

Guy Rogers was the “B” final winner with Ian Whiston taking second place and Sam Pope third, a great race this.

The “A” Final was won by Josh Flanagan from pole position on the start grid with 39 laps. Freddie Parker took second place on 38 laps with Justin Heath 0.39 seconds behind in third place. Adam Hancock was fourth, Benn Norris fifth and Dan Stones sixth – all three drivers having 37 laps.
