15-04-25 Superleague Round 2

Round 2 of the 2025 Superleague this week which is run on alternate months throughout the year.

The same track design as last week with Karl Norris being quickest after the three qualifying rounds, Josh Flanagan was in second place and Freddie Parker third. Noah Bailey was fourth, Tim Bailey fifth, and Dan Stones sixth, these drivers making up the “A” Final.

The “E” Final produced a good race between Ivan Lewty and Darren Thomas with Ivan taking the win by just over five seconds in front of Darren who set the quickest lap in the race. Eric Enion finished third, being two laps behind the leaders.

Paul Carter won the “D” Final with 33 laps with visiting driver Mike Batte in second place just ahead of Tom Moon.

The “C” Final winner was Jacob Milne with 35 laps, also having the quickest lap time. Another very close finish for second and third places with Ian Wyatt just over two seconds ahead of Kevin Morris, both with 34 laps.

The “B” Final produced the closest finish of the evening between Ian Whiston and Bob Harley. After a great race it was a photo finish with Ian winning by just 0.64 seconds ahead of Bob in second place, both on 37 laps. Mike Simpson was third with 35 laps.

The “A” Final as usual was run at a very fast pace, Karl Norris was the winner having 41 laps, Josh Flanagan was second with 39 laps, also setting the quickest lap time. Tim Bailey had a great race to take third place with 38 laps, Freddie Parker was fourth and Noah Bailey fifth.

A great evenings racing, thanks to Courtney Orme at race control and everyone who helped setting up and storing away all the equipment at the end of the evening.

Looking at the “Personal Best” results most drivers improved on the number of laps they achieved last week. The same track design will be used for a third time next week.

Next Tuesday 22nd April is the Easter Clubnight Team event, booking in as usual by text message to the Clubs mobile.

Drivers will be allocated into heats as normally done each week using their qualifying positions in their previous weeks racing.

There will be Four Qualifying Heats and no finals.

Each driver’s best qualifying round of the evening will count towards their team score.

Driver’s car numbers in the GT12 Top heat to be their Team Number eg.  Car 1 = Team 1 etc.

There will be random draws for each of the other heats to allocate each Driver to a team.

Non members allowed to race (subject to numbers) but cannot be part of a team.

Trophy awarded to each driver in the winning team.

08-04-25 Spring League Round 4

Qualifying

The first week of a different track design, Karl Norris was again quickest in qualifying with 39 laps. Josh Flanagan and Simon Pole both had 28 laps, Noah Bailey, Adam Hancock, Freddie Parker and Chelle Snowden all were on 37 laps.

Finals

Carly Hopper had yet another win in the “D” Final, Darren Thomas took second place, also being the top “Team Thomas “driver this week. A good performance also from new member Ivan Lewty to take third place.

Mike Simpson was first across the finishing line in the “C” Final just 0.29 seconds ahead of Caleb Jones in second place. Will Lacey was third.

Chelle Snowden was the winner of the “B” Final with 37 laps followed by Benn Norris and Tim Bailey in second and third places, both having 36 laps.

Karl Norris won the “A” Final with 39 laps as in qualifying. It was close for the next three places with Josh Flanagan, Tim Bailey and Freddie Parker finishing second, third and fourth respectively all with 38 laps. Adam Hancock was fifth having 37 laps.

01-04-25 Spring League Round 3

Another very competitive racing, the third week of using a similar track design, looking at the “Personal Best” results most drivers improved on their previous best performances.

Qualifying

For the third week running Karl Norris was quickest after the three qualifying rounds , having 42 laps. Noah Bailey, Josh Flanagan, Simon Pole and Chelle Snowden took the next four places, each on 41 laps with Benn Norris sixth on 40 laps.

Finals

Carly Hopper won the “E” Final after a very close race with Eric Enion who finished in second place. Darren Thomas was the top “Team Thomas” driver this week taking third place in the race.

Jacob Milne had a convincing win in the “D” Final, being four laps clear of new club Member Ben Moon with visiting driver Joshua Hinks taking third place.

The “C” Final soon developed into a battle for the lead between Ian Wyatt, Will Lacey and Jason Thompson. Ian was the winner after lapping all the other drivers ahead of a photo finish for second and third places with Will Lacey finishing just 0.27 seconds ahead of Jason.

We were then treated to yet another great race in the “B” Final which was won by Tim Bailey with Ian Whiston being just 1.4 seconds adrift in second place. Bob Harley was third.

In the last race of the evening, the “A” Final Josh Flanagan set the fastest lap of the race but the winner was Noah Bailey, being just 0.67 seconds ahead of Karl Norris in second place. Josh took third place, all three drivers with 42 laps.
