Tuesday 17th September 2013 – Clubnight – Daniel wins for second week running
Daniel Williams continued his run of good form by winning the “A” final after taking pole position on the grid after the qualifying. Dave Tomlinson was in second place and Graham Oxford third.
The “B” final was won by Louis Parker a full lap ahead of Paul Galbraith and Michelle Snowden.
The “C” final proved to be a very exciting race, Alwyn Hodges and Selina Woods were four laps ahead of the rest of the field and with one lap to go Alwyn looked to have the race won, leading by 1.7 seconds but Selina overtook him to win her first final by just over a second. Well done Selina!
Tuesday 10th September 2013 – Summer League round 7 – Daniel leads the way
Top driver of the evening was Daniel Williams who took maximum 41 points by being best qualifier and winning the “A” final with a very fast drive.
Bob Harley was also unbeatable in division 2 with Daniel Lacey second and Michelle Snowden third.
Team Galbraith dominated the qualifying in division 3, Paul being first and Jordan second. Paul went on to win the final but an excellent drive from Roy Matthews earned him second place in the final pushing Jordan down into third place.
A great evenings racing, congratulations to Daniel, Bob and Paul on scoring maximum points in divisions 1,2 and 3 respectively.
Just one round left in the summer league to be held on the 24th September, there could be quite a few changes in league positions yet so the pressure is on to drive well and get a good result.
Tuesday 3rd September 2013 – Summer League round 6 – Louis closes the gap on leader
Louis Parker won the “A” final with Mike Simpson second, both drivers achieving 39 laps and Louis gained 2 points overall on his dad Richard who leads division 1.
In division 2 outstanding driving by Daniel Lacey earned him fourth best qualifier overall and also the fourth best score in the finals, well done Daniel – yet another maximum 41 points in the league. Michelle Snowden was second with 38 points and Bob Harley third on 36.
Paul Galbraith also put in some great performances in division 3, winning the “C” final with 38 laps which was better than all the division 2 drivers!. A well deserved maximum 41 points, a good evening this for team Galbraith with Jordan being second overall and getting 38 points. Shane Stones returned from a break in racing to take third overall on 36 points.
Just two rounds to go now in the league, with six rounds to count drivers who race more than this have the opportunity of discarding their worst scores in the remaining rounds, which should make for an exciting finish.
